May and June saw many anticipated music releases in K-Pop. In May, the rising rookie group LE SSERAFIM made their debut with their mini album, FEARLESS. K-Pop groups iKON, LOONA, GOT7, ASTRO, and BTS, among others, also made their awaited comebacks in May and June.
As we await more exciting music to be released in July, here is a look at the top 20 most popular songs of June on Melon‘s Top 100 chart.
20. “INVU” by Taeyeon
Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon released her third studio album INVU and lead single of the same name on February 14, 2022. Four months later, the song is still in the top 20 on the Melon music charts.
19. “Without Me” by Juho
Soloist Juho released his new song, “Without Me” on March 25, 2022.
18. “Yet to Come” by BTS
BTS made their much-anticipated comeback on June 10, 2022, with their anthology album PROOF. The album included three new songs, “Yet to Come,” “For Youth,” and “Run BTS.”
17. “If You Lovingly Call My Name” by Jeon Gunho and Gyeongseo Yeji
GyeongseoYeji is a female duo who debuted in 2020 with “Actually… I Miss You,” featuring Jeon Gunho. The three collaborated again on their new track “If You Lovingly Call My Name,” released on May 19, 2021. The song remains in the top 20 after a year.
16. “ELEVEN” by IVE
IVE‘s debut single, “ELEVEN,” remains in the top 20 after it was released on December 1, 2021.
15. “Our Blues, Our Life” by Lim Young Woong
Popular soloist Lim Young Woong released “Our Blues, Our Life” as part of the drama Our Blues‘ bonus soundtrack.
14. “Traffic Light” by Lee Mujin
Lee Mujin gained popularity after appearing on a Korean audition show in 2020, where he finished in third place. His song “Traffic Light” peaked at number one on Billboard’s K-Pop Hot 100 chart in 2021 and now sits at number 14 on the Melon music charts.
13. “GANADARA” by Jay Park (featuring IU)
Jay Park dreamed of collaborating with IU and made it happen with their track, “GANADARA.” The two showed off their adorable friendship while promoting the song, which was released on March 11, 2022.
12. “Love Always Runs Away” by Lim Young Woong
Lim Young Woong has a second song in the top 20 with his single, “Love Always Run Away,” released on October 11, 2021. The song appeared on the soundtrack for the KBS drama, Young Lady and Gentleman.
11. “Feel My Rhythm” by Red Velvet
Red Velvet made their comeback on March 21, 2022, with “Feel My Rhythm.” The song, which sampled the melody from Johann Sebastian Bach‘s “Air on the G String,” was perfect for the springtime and remains in the top 20 three months after its release.
10. “DrunKen Confession” by Kim Min Seok of MeloMance
Kim Min Seok is the vocalist for the popular duo, MeloMance. He released his solo song, “DrunKen Confession” on December 19, 2021, and it quickly topped Korea’s music charts.
9. “FEARLESS” by LE SSERAFIM
LE SSERAFIM debuted on May 2, 2022. They recently wrapped their successful promotions for their song “FEARLESS,” which peaked at number two on the Gaon music charts and currently sits at number nine on the Melon music charts for the month of June.
8. “LOVE me” by Be’O
Rapper Be’O rose to fame with his appearance on Show Me The Money 10 in 2021. His 2021 release, “Counting Stars” (feat. Beenzino) went viral, earning him a nomination for “Hip-hop Track of the Year” at the 2022 Korean Hip-hop Awards.
His recent single, “LOVE me,” was released on April 12, 2022.
7. “Dear My X” by Kyoung Seo
Soloist Kyoung Seo debuted on November 14, 2020. Her song “Dear My X” was released on April 24, 2022 and ended June at number seven on the Melon music charts.
6. “Beyond Love” by BIG Naughty (featuring 10 cm)
The 19 year old rapper and songwriter, BIG Naughty, gained attention when he appeared on Show Me The Money 8 in 2021. His song “Beyond Love” (feat. 10 cm) was released on April 20, 2022 and ended June at number six on the Melon music charts.
5. “Still Life” by BIGBANG
BIGBANG made their long-awaited comeback on April 1, 2022 with their single, “Still Life.” The song earned them their 100th music show win, becoming the fifth group to earn that achievement.
4. “Love, Maybe” by MeloMance
MeloMance’s popular song “Love, Maybe,” from the Business Proposal soundtrack, was released on February 18, 2022 and ended June at number four on the Melon music charts.
3. “That That” by Psy (prod. & feat. Suga)
With the star power of veteran singer PSY and BTS‘s Suga, it’s no surprise “That That” is still in the top three. The song was released on April 29, 2022, and broke into the US Billboard Hot 100 chart at number 80.
2. “TOMBOY” by (G)I-DLE
(G)I-DLE released their lead single “TOMBOY” off of their first album, I Never Die, on March 14, 2022. The group’s catchy song and strong concept quickly caught fans’ attention and the song remains at the top of the Melon chart in June.
1. “LOVE DIVE” by IVE
IVE’s second single, “LOVE DIVE,” was released on April 5, 2022. The song reached number one on Billboard’s K-Pop Hot 100 chart and remains at the top of the Gaon Digital Chart and Melon’s Top 100 chart for June.
