BTS‘s Suga recently sat down with Josh “Bru” Brubaker and Audacy Music for an interview during which he spilled on how he discovered his musical talent, his new ambassadorship with the NBA, and how he adjusted to touring solo.
Suga is no stranger to touring, as he accompanied his fellow group members on five concert tours before announcing in February that he would be the first member to embark on a solo tour.
Aside from being joined by surprise guests Halsey and MAX in Los Angeles and the support of BTS’s Jimin in the audience of his New Jersey show, Suga has journeyed alone and blown ARMYs away with his solo show.
In an interview with Marie Claire last month, Suga revealed that the intention of his solo tour was to “pay [fans] back in a way” after ARMYs patiently waited for a world tour with all seven members.
I think the current form of solo tour came about because it’s physically impossible for all 7 of us to perform together now, which would be ideal. Our fans have waited for a tour for such a long time, and I wanted to pay them back in a way.

Even solo, he is never truly alone and has heartwarmingly continued a pre-show ritual that BTS partook in on their past tours.
Suga revealed that during past tours, he and some of his fellow members would take a shot of whisky before going on stage.
Now, he’s continued the tradition with his touring band.
After continuing the ritual, the band hilariously told Suga they couldn’t take the stage anymore without a shot of whisky.
